how to order

We sell free range eggs at £1 per half dozen. They are so different from supermarket eggs, ours have intense bright yellow yolks and firm whites....they are delicious in a 'fry-up' and in your home baking they make lovely golden cakes!

We have kept chickens to produce free range eggs for some years now, we have a mixture of breeds giving a selection of egg colours, from rich dark brown to white and even blue eggs..... they all taste the same.

We can offer an incubation service for anyone wanting their hen eggs incubated, but please note: Eggs can be posted, live chicks cannot, and must be collected in person!

We have tried rearing chickens for meat as well. Commercial poultry production represents the worst in terms of animal welfare to produce the oven-ready bird we find so cheaply in the supermarket. The only way you can be sure you are not buying an intensively reared bird is to rear your own, or in the supermarket to buy organic (that is true for all meat - organic means it is regulated by an external body, and it's standards for animal welfare are very high). We have hatched and reared 'Sasso' hens which are ideally suited to free range table bird production - the trouble is that by the time they are ready for eating at around 20 weeks old they are just becoming fully feathered and look absolutely beautiful! (They did taste good too).
